Duke of Edinburgh language course overview
- Course: Accreditation in Business French, German or Spanish
- Level: Level 2 Accreditation (post-GCSE) / Level 3 Certificate
- Duration: 6-9 months (Oct 2025 – May 2026)

- Lesson style: Live small group or independent study
- Fee: £450 (£15 per lesson including online homework and assessment feedback) (prices vary for individual/ smaller groups)

- Level 3: Building on the knowledge gained at level 2, there is the option to continue with a level 3 project to gain 16 UCAS points. Completion of 14 assessments (duration from 1 week to 9 months). May be completed in France/Germany/Spain as an intensive week long residential – ideal for Gold award.

How does it work
Our courses include 30 one-hour live Zoom lessons, held weekly from mid-October to the end of May.
You can choose afternoon or evening sessions (see Apply section).
All lessons are recorded, so you can catch up or review anytime.
Between lessons, you will complete online quizzes to reinforce learning.
Our resources are designed by nationally renowned specialists in the field of language learning.
We use the latest best practice in teaching and learning and include games and competitions to keep learning engaging.
Classes are small (max. 6 students) to ensure everyone takes part.
Assessments must be done live on Zoom, even for independent students.

What does it comprise
You will study 6 modules and complete an assessment after each one, using your notes for support.
Tutors mark your work and give you personal feedback.
We set weekly online homework that tracks your progress and highlights any gaps.
The modules are:
- Companies and Organisations : Businesses and How They Work - written task
- Business Correspondence : Emails and Letters for Work – reading and writing task
- Health and Safety : Staying Safe at Work – reading task
- Travel and Announcements : Travel and Workplace Announcements – listening task
- Sales and Marketing : Selling and Advertising – speaking task
- Customer Service : Helping Customers – speaking and listening task
- A desktop or laptop computer
- Microphone and speakers (or a headset with a mic)
- Mouse and keyboard
- Reliable internet connection
- Free Zoom software
- Chrome browser
System Requirements
Software:
Earn a Recognized Qualification
You will receive a Level 2 Certificate in the language, accredited by the Skills & Education Group.
You can also choose to take two final tests for a graded award (Pass, Merit, or Distinction).
After Level 2, you can move on to a Level 3 independent project, worth 16 UCAS points.

Who Can Join This Course?
The Level 2 course is open to anyone aged 16 or over.
It’s ideal for students who have done GCSE or similar in the language.
We can adapt materials to support students with access needs, such as visual impairment or dyslexia.

How to Apply

Group bookings:
If you and your friends want to join together, we may be able to offer a private group course with flexible lesson times to suit you.
Your group can also learn together in person while your tutor teaches online.
One-to-one lessons:
We also offer private live sessions for students who prefer individual learning.
Options include GCSE, A level, and as well as our Business Language courses.
Please note:
Students under 18 must have parental permission.
We teach under-18s and adult professionals in separate groups.
